Abstract: We will provide a brief historical perspective on time series models, MRFs, Gibbs distributions, fractals, mosaic models, dynamic texture models, discuss their advantages and drawbacks and then move onto a detailed exposition of GANs. Will show applications of GANs for image synthesis,  image restoration, medical image reconstruction, domain adaptation and defending against adversarial attacks.
