Carey Priebe, professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, has been elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, a recognition of his outstanding research and leadership in the field of statistics.

Carey’s research focuses on computational statistics, kernel and mixture estimates, statistical pattern recognition, dimensionality reduction, model selection, and statistical inference for high-dimensional and graph data.
