Joshua Vogelstein receives NSF CAREER Award
Joshua T. Vogelstein, assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and a member of the Institute for Computational Medicine, Center for Imaging Science, and the Kavli Neuroscience Discovery Institute, is a recipient of the National Science Foundation’s Early CAREER Award, which recognizes early stage scholars with high levels of promise and excellence.
Joshua’s research focuses on developing new statistical methods and computational tools to map patterns of connectivity in human and non-human brains. His five-year CAREER award project, “Foundational statistical theory and methods for analyzing populations of attributed connectomes,” will use connectal coding to enable brain scientists to infer latent structure from individual connectomes, identify meaningful clusters among populations of connectomes, and detect relationships between connectomes and multivariate phenotypes.
